| Introduction |
Regional
debates are organized in order to open issues of the rights of the
ethnic communities in the region. This debate will be used for
citizens’ information about the existing international and national
instruments for protection of minorities’ rights. Invited speakers are
familiar with the situation regarding interethnic and intercultural
relations. Their participation will be essential for approaching and
promoting interethnic relation, understanding the concept of equality
between the citizens.
Discussions will be focused on possible
institutional solution and promotion of minority rights as well as
their protection. Ombudsman from the Regional Office from Stip, Mayor
of Municipality of Stip, representatives from NGO’s that work with
different ethnic communities and expert for minority rights are invited
to participate on this debate. We expect to raise discussions about
implementation of national and international standards for protection
of ethnic community’s rights in the region.
Through open
discussion and questions (there will be open phone line for the viewers
to pose questions and comments during the debate) we expect to promote
mutual understanding for different ethnic communities and to promote
the existing institutions on regional level.
